Riley's Wish Foundation works to educate and raise awareness about OCD and addiction and its diagnosis and treatment, as well as to provide resources for persons affected by these diseases and share options to better deal with the diseases in everyday life. The Foundation identifies and shares resources that help organizations and individuals understand the availability of and information about OCD diagnosis and current treatment, with a special emphasis on persons suffering from a co-occurring disorder of OCD and substance use disorder.
Among other advocacy efforts, the Foundation participates in speaking events, like the International OCD Foundation annual meetings and the OCD Georgia Friends and Family events, sharing stories with families on what OCD is, providing insight on how to live a successful life with this mental illness and sharing resources on how to obtain appropriate treatment.
Riley’s Wish Foundation has partnered with Kennesaw State University to bring Riley’s Wish Lectureship to the state of Ga. This began in 2017 and has included speakers across the US who are experts in the field of mental health and substance use disorder. Through this lectureship, the foundation has educated and raised awareness concerning mental health and substance use disorder. The lectureship offered CEU credits for all professionals attending.
